Registration to the Forum is closed.
A related conference open to the public. This year the Fiberart Forum will extend to two days and take place in person and online. Participants have the option of attending either one or both.
The In-Person Forum on June 4, 2022 includes presentations by attending artists, keynote lecture, lunch and transportation between exhibition venues.
The Online Forum includes the live broadcast of the keynote lecture on Saturday June 4, 2022 at 12:40 PM ET and the Online artists’ presentations on Sunday June 5, 2022.
Saturday, June 4, 2022 – In Person
The in-person session of the Forum features a lecture and gallery presentations by exhibiting artists. It is a full day event from 9:00AM ETuntil 3:30PM ET. The format is informal, designed to encourage free-flowing dialogue between FI2022 attending artists and Forum attendees. We ask each participating artist to be available adjacent to their work to speak with Forum attendees and answer questions. We will begin the morning at the Brew House Association, then a break for lunch. During our lunch hour, Jessica Hemmings, one of our distinguished jurors, is our keynote speaker. Then the entire group proceeds via bus to Contemporary Craft for the remainder of the afternoon, following the same format as the morning.
Sunday, June 5, 2022 – Online
For the online session we will give an opportunity to those artists who are not attending in person to make their presentations at a Fiberart Forum Online. The format will be similar to the In-Person Forum. Artists will be grouped in several sessions, they will speak about their work for 5 minutes and answer questions for 5 minutes each. It will begin at 12:00PM ET and last until 2:00PM ET with a short intermission. Online Forum attendees will also have access to the live broadcast of Jessica Hemmings lecture on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at lunchtime ET.
This is the first time we are trying this format, so we are very excited about the possibilities and still solidifying the details.
LOCATIONS: Contemporary Craft (5645 Butler Street) and Brew House Association (711 South 21st Street), Pittsburgh.
